Five Tips for a More Stress-free Wedding!

It’s time to plan your wedding. So much excitement! So much joy! So many ideas! You have a thousand little things running through your mind and you’re not sure where to start, right? Don’t panic. Just keep these top five tips in mind to help you ease some of that pesky stress that comes with preparing for your big day.

1. Set a budget and stick to it.

This is by far the most important rule to follow. After all, aren’t financial stresses the worst? Sit down with whoever is paying for the wedding and talk about exactly how much you want and can afford to spend. Then, make a list of the expenses and ration out amounts for each item. You are bound to go off budget on a few things, but as long as you make up for them by subtracting funds from something else, all will be fine. Prioritizing what is most important to you is key and will help you in this crucial task!

2. Book a reputable venue.

When you are searching for a venue, be sure it is one with an excellent reputation. Do you research and look at online reviews. Talk to friends… see what their experience was like with their own wedding venue. Most of all, never be afraid to ask questions. The venue might hold your ceremony and reception, so you want to pick an establishment that is experienced. Finally, book your venue as soon as you can! Your wedding date may just depend on it.

3. Order your wedding gown early.

Many times, the wedding gown is top priority for the bride, and for good reason. You really need to be on your game and start shopping for your dress sooner than later. We suggest ordering it no later than nine months before the wedding. You want to be certain you have the gown in hand with plenty of time to spare. Plus, you need to factor in that alterations may need to be done.

4. Let the bridesmaids choose their dress.

Keeping your squad happy can be quite stressful. Choosing the bridesmaids gown in particular is often worrisome. So, why not let the gals choose their own? Just pick your bridesmaid dress color or colors, choose your designer, then, let them choose the cut or design they love. This way, less stress for you, and the ladies will be comfortable on your wedding day. Comfortable equals calm, and that is always a good thing.

5. Don’t be afraid to ask for help.

With so much going on, don’t be afraid to ask for help with the little (or big) things. This is what family and friends are for. You simply cannot do it all by yourself. Not every bride can afford a wedding planner, so form a group of your own and put them to work!
