THE COUPLE
Anneke Sharp, one of our very own bridal consultants at Vows Bridal Outlet, grew up in Lyme, CT. Eric Beaulieu, a firefighter and paramedic, is from Rockport, MA. They met at a July 4th cookout hosted by a mutual friend. And let’s just say the fireworks began!
THE PROPOSAL
Holidays have always been full of fun and romance for these two. On a special day in December, merrily dressed as Santa and Mrs. Claus, Eric and Anneke attended the Rockport Fire Department’s annual Children’s Christmas Festival. After the festival, they celebrated further by bringing a little holiday spirit to a nearby nursing home and rehabilitation center with their jolly personas. Later, the couple stopped to pose for what Anneke thought was a holiday photo in front of the Dock Square Christmas tree. It was there that Eric bent to one knee, still fully clothed in Santa gear, and popped the question.
THE PLANNING
Anneke and Eric toyed with the idea of having a Christmas wedding. They thought it would be a special reflection of their festive engagement. After much consideration, they settled on adding another holiday to their memory book: Labor Day. The next big decision was the venue—the couple was torn between having the wedding in Massachusetts or Connecticut. After some browsing they choose the Hellenic Center in Ipswich, MA. Anneke believes it to be the hidden gem of the North Shore.
THE WEDDING DRESS
After seven years in the bridal industry, and after seeing literally thousands of wedding gowns, Anneke knew finding the dress of her dreams would be no easy feat. But she knew that she would find her gown at Vows. After trying on plenty of dresses, with the company and encouragement of her mother and sister, one dress finally captured her heart. Her dress was the Lana gown by Hayley Paige. When she slipped into the blush-colored beauty, she knew it was perfection. Anneke loved that it was different and unique, with layers of ruffles and a whimsical geometrical pattern. She loved the fit of the sweetheart neckline and the flowing full skirt of the ball gown. She had definitely found the gown!

THE COLORS
Anneke says selecting the wedding colors was a pretty easy decision. She adores the romantic and soft look of the color blush. Eric was set on wearing gray on the big day. Thankfully, the two colors complemented each other magically, just like this lovely couple.
